I think it is a great idea, even if I am almost alone in this thought, that GSP waits to fight Anderson Silva.  After being away for 18 months, Anderson now decides he wants to fight GSP.  Has anyone wondered why?  He was not this happy about taking him on before he got hurt was he. Anderson may be many things, but he is not stupid.  Anderson knows this is the best time to get George into the Cage.  I believe GSP needs at least one more fight, with anyone, in order to have completely erased the rust, and nerves that certainly was present to those who follow this sport.  Yes, GSP dominated the fight, however, he was not able to do much damage or hold Condit down the way he was holding down other fighters prior to Knee surgery.  GSP, in my humble opinion, needs to fight one more time, and then start his camp for Anderson.  Yes it does put the division on hold for a while. But I do not agree with GSP that if he goes up in weight for a catch weight of 178lbs, he will not be able to come back down to 170lbs and return to the division.  I think he can fight at that weight and come back with relative ease.  Also, I was hoping he would fight at 185lbs considering he walks around at 190lbs anyway.  Anderson who is a freak of nature with cutting weight, comes down from about 220lbs to 185lbs to compete at middle weight.  George would have an easier time of it. The only issue is that I believe Anderson is really a true Lightheavy Weight who happens to be able to make weight at 185lbs.  He is blessed to be able to do both.  GSP can go up, fight for Anderson's Title, then come back down. Of course I will watch the fight at the agreed catch weight if and when it happens, but it would mean so much more to be fighting for that title.  GSP however has recently said in the Bleacher Report that he is going to wait and only pick that fight when the time is right for him. So I don't see it happening any time soon.
